KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Former Sen. Claire McCaskill isn’t letting her failed 2018 re-election bid for U.S. Senate keep her out of the political spotlight.
A spokeswoman for McCaskill announced Tuesday that the former Missouri senator has joined NBC News and MSNBC as a political analyst.
“I’m looking forward to bringing my experience from the Senate, hard fought campaigns and Midwest common sense to the coverage of breaking political events. And, as always, I won’t hold back,” McCaskill said in a news release.
McCaskill also appeared on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" Tuesday morning to make the announcement.
Her first formal assignment will be offering coverage and analysis of President Donald Trump’s State of the Union Address on Jan. 29.
McCaskill, a Democrat, lost her re-election battle last November to Republican challenger Josh Hawley.
