UPDATE 9:20PM | Police say the girl's family has been identified. The Department of Family Services and police are investigating the incident.

EARLIER | Police are attempting to locate the parents or guardians of a 3-year-old girl located Sunday in Kansas City.
Police say the child was found just after 5 p.m. Sunday at a play area near 20th Street and Wheeling Avenue.
Although the girl has been able to tell police she is 3-years-old, she has not answered when police have asked her name.
Police are hoping anyone who knows the parents or guardians of the child to call 9-1-1.
