KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The General Motors plant in Wentzville, Missouri, located just outside St. Louis, is facing temporary layoffs due to a parts shortage.

The move will impact most workers across all three shifts, according to a notice posted by the United Auto Workers Local 2250.

Layoffs are scheduled to begin Sept. 29 and last until Oct. 19, with GM expecting to resume normal operations Oct. 20.

The Wentzville plant builds mid-size pickup trucks and full-size vans.

Brian Harvey, communications manager at the GM Fairfax Assembly Plant, says there is currently no impact on workers at the Fairfax plant in Kansas City, Kansas.
