KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A nonprofit dance studio aimed at empowering underserved students hosted an open house on Saturday in Grandview.

Adrienne Johnson, founder of Three Dimensions dance studio, said she wanted an opportunity to give back to children who can't afford dance classes.

“For me, dance is like a ministry of healing or gift,” Johnson said. “It brings inspiration to people that see it.”

Three Dimensions is located inside Trinity Temple and will benefit students who attend Hickman Mills and Grandview schools.

Grandview Mayor Leonard Jones and Trinity Temple Pastor Benjamin Stephens attended the event and participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Classes are expected to begin Sept. 8.
