KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police are investigating after a kindergarten student was found with a gun in their backpack Tuesday morning.
According to a press release from the Kansas City Public Schools, a teacher discovered the student had "unknowingly" brought the gun to Faxon Elementary School.
The child found the gun in their backpack and alerted the teacher, who alerted the school.
The gun was secured, and no one was hurt.
KCPD is investigating, and KCPS said they will not release any more information due to student confidentiality.
