An eight year-old boy was seriously injured after a woman driving the wrong way on I-35 crashed into the vehicle he was riding in.
The Missouri Highway Patrol says about 12:10 Sunday morning Madison E. Mortallaro, 20, of Smithville was driving a 2009 Hyundai southbound in the northbound lanes of I-35 at Mo-291.
She hit a 2007 Mitsubishi, driven by Joshua R. West, 20, of Kearney head-on.
Both adults were not injured, but Nathaniel R. West, 8, suffered serious injuries in the crash.
The cause is under investigation.
