KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two people went to the hospital after a hit-and-run incident overnight.
Police responded to 85th Street and Hickman Mills on a two-car crash just before 3 a.m. on Sunday. Police say a red Chevy Tahoe had run out of gas, and the driver and passenger were outside the vehicle pushing it towards the gas station.
An SUV came up behind and struck the pedestrians, then fled the scene on foot. Authorities say the SUV was not drivable and left behind.
The pedestrians were transported to the hospital. The passenger has serious injuries but is stable. The driver received non-life threatening injuries.
No word yet on whether or not the driver who fled suffered any injuries or if police have found that person.
