All aboard! The Kansas City Southern Holiday Express has rolled in to Union Station!
The six-car train, filled with Christmas memories, has visited 20 towns and cities in 24 days. Kansas City is the last stop of the season.
The Holiday Express has been making merry along the tracks since 2001. There’s an amazing train layout in one of the cars, the elves’ workshop in another. And, of course, the man of the moment and his special someone: Santa and Mrs. Claus!
According to Santa, in addition to visiting with children and families all along the route, the best part of the train tradition is the giving! So far, the Holiday Express has donated nearly $160,000 to local Salvation Army charities all over the Midwest.
The train will be at Union Station into the weekend. There’s also a holiday party going on inside the station featuring music, food, decorations and more.
Have fun this weekend with a train that doesn’t say “Choo-Choo” so much as “Ho Ho Ho!”
