KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Law enforcement officials from several area departments are investigating after human remains were found in rural Clay County.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said the remains were found near Cameron Road and Easley Road, roughly 10 miles east of Liberty.
The remains have not been identified yet, including gender, age and ethnicity, the sheriff’s office said.
Investigators processed the scene for evidence, and said it appears the person was killed “very recently.”
The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department and Platte County Sheriff’s Officer are aiding the investigation.
