The area of I-29 closed on May 29, after Memorial Day, due to flooding in Iowa. Parts of the interstate also were shut down from late March to early May because of flooding and subsequent repairs.
Businesses along I-29 said they were seeing significant impacts from the closure, comparing the interstate to a “ghost town.”
