KANSAS CITY, Mo. - I-70 between I-435 & I-470 is shut down so MoDOT can demolish three 60 year old bridges and replace them.
Both directions of the interstate were shut down at 10:00 p.m. Friday, and will remain closed until 5:00 a.m. Monday.
Construction crews will demolish three bridges, the Phelps Road bridge, Pittman Road bridge, and Crisler Avenue bridge.
The demolition will continue over the weekend and I-70 will remain closed in both directions until Monday morning.
Construction crews will then rebuild the bridges, with an anticipation date for completion set for this December.
