UPDATE, 2:30 p.m. | The eastbound and westbound lanes of I-70 reopened Wednesday afternoon after a morning crash impacted the flow of traffic for hours.
UPDATE: 6:35 a.m. | The Missouri State Highway Patrol says two vehicles are involved in a crash in the EB lanes of I-70 due to the slowdown from the semi crash in the WB lanes. No serious injuries have been reported.
ORIGINAL STORY | The westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near Adams Dairy Parkway in Blue Springs are shut down due to a semi crash.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says just before 5 a.m. a semi crashed.
No injuries have been reported in the single-vehicle crash, and the semi did not lose its load or spill any fluid.
I-70WB has been shut down while an investigation is underway and a tow truck can get on scene.
Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route.
