An Independence man died in a head-on crash on 50 Highway Friday night.
Deputies say a 2012 Ford Focus, driven by David Parton, of Independence was driving westbound in the eastbound lane of U.S. 50 at Buckner Tarsney Road just after 9:30 p.m..
He collided with Linda D. Terry, 63, of Lone Jack, Mo. who was eastbound.
Parton was pronounced dead before 10:00 p.m., Terry suffered serious injuries, and was transported by Life Flight to Research Medical Center.
It's unknown why Parton was traveling the wrong direction in the eastbound lane.
