KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Independence Police Department asked for help locating a missing man who was last seen around 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

After the public plea, he was located before 6:30 p.m., according to a second release from IPD.

Daniel Gutridge, 28, was last seen in the area of the Pepperwood Apartments at 19400 E. 37th Terrace Court South.

He is 5 feet 8 inches tall with short brown hair and a medium build. Police said he was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, brown and khaki plaid cargo shorts, and brown "Dockers-type" shoes.

Gutridge has autism and is nonverbal. If anyone sees him they should not approach him as he might flee. This is not the first time Gutridge has gone missing, police said.

If you see him, please call 911.
