UPDATE, 3:40 p.m. | Police say they have located Becker safe. Becker told police that she was not the victim of any crime.

EARLIER | Police in Independence are searching for a 30-year-old woman who hasn’t been seen since late Friday night.

Police say Robin Becker left her home in the 1100 block of N. Cottage Avenue just before midnight with a man she met on Craigslist to buy a new cellphone.

The man picked Becker up to get money to pay for the phone, and hasn’t been seen since.

The man is described as a black man with a scar across the right side of his face, wearing a green shirt with writing on it.

Becker is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with red hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray and white halter top, black leggings and black shoes.

The pair left Becker’s home in an early- to mid-1990s white Ford F-250 dually truck with a long bed.

Anyone with information about Becker’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Independence Police Department at 816-836-3600.
