SHAWNEE, Kan. — The owner of a Shawnee daycare, charged with child abuse, was back home Friday after posting a $10,000 bond.

Katherine Konon was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated battery.

According to police, Konon beat a 6-month-old baby in her care on June 20.

Sarah Braun, the mother of the little boy, made a public Facebook post Thursday saying, "SHE WAS ARRESTED!!!!! So many emotions, but most of all, RELIEF! It's been 98 days since our 6-month-old (at the time) baby boy was abused at day care."

According to Braun's Facebook post, her son Glen, is doing well.

The post included a picture of her son covered in bruises.

According to the Kansas Department for Health and Environment, Konon's day care license is suspended.

Previous inspection reports are no longer posted to the state's website.

The 41 Action News investigators contacted KDHE requesting all records tied to Konon's day care. However, the records have not yet been received.

Konon is due back in court October 4.
