KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Jackson County Sheriff Darryl Forte’ said deputies are investigating a homicide in unincorporated Greenwood, Missouri.
The sheriff said deputies were called to the 13000 block of Harris Road on reports of a shooting shortly before midnight Wednesday night.
Inside a residence, deputies located a female victim dead from a gunshot wound. She was identified Thursday afternoon as Kimberly R. Alcorn, 54, in a release from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.
A male suspect was arrested after a short vehicle pursuit, Forte’ said.
Kansas City, Missouri, police crime scene investigators were on the scene to assist with the investigation.
