KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A crash south of St. Louis took the life of an 11-year-old Kansas City, Missouri, boy.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan was traveling north on Interstate 55 when it left the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned.
The vehicle came to rest upside down in the median. The 11-year-old boy was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Three other children were also in the vehicle. Two sustained minor injuries and was was flown to a children's hospital with serious injuries.
Three adults were also injured in the accident, two of them seriously. The 71-year-old driver was the only person known to be wearing a seatbelt.
