UPDATE, Dec. 17 | KCFD companies on the scene of the lumberyard fire rotated throughout the day and night; crews were still on the scene as of 6 a.m. Wednesday.
"They have been working on hotspots and deep-seated fire within the stacks of lumber," a KCFD spokesperson shared in an update.
KCFD was in contact with the KCPD Bomb and Arson and ATF squads Tuesday, but the fire spokesperson said the investigation is "in its infancy and will take some time to conduct."
ORIGINAL REPORT | Kansas City, Missouri, firefighters were called to a fire in a lumberyard outbuilding early Tuesday morning.
Crews responded shortly after 6 a.m. to 3900 E. 14th Terrace.

Smoke and flames were reported from an outbuilding that reportedly contained lumber.
Around 9:15 a.m., KCFD shared a video update of the status of the blaze.
