Bar owner Eric Gomez told 41 Action News Thursday he’s renovated the bar and is hopeful of changing the image in the community.

In addition to the renovation, Gomez says security will be present at the bar on a more consistent basis.

Early in the morning on Sunday, Oct. 6, two suspects walked into the bar and opened fire. A security guard was not present at the bar at the time of the shooting.

One suspect, Javier Alatorre, was arrested not long after the shooting. The second suspect, 29-year-old Villanueva-Morales, remains on the run.
