Kansas City police are investigating what they are calling a homicide after human remains were found in the area of 49th and Brooklyn on Friday morning.
According to police, at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Kansas City Police Department officers responded on a call with city waste collection workers. When officers arrived, they discovered human remains amongst the trash.
Police said investigators are working to determine the identity of the deceased. They were not sure of the gender of the victim at this time.
