KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, will host the 2020 soccer Development Academy Championships at the Swope Soccer Village July 9-12.

U.S. Soccer made the announcement on Tuesday.

The national championships will crown the top U-15, U-16/17 and U-18/19 boys teams and U-15, U-16 and U-17 girls teams in the country. The four best teams at each level will attend the event.

Swope Soccer Village is the home base of the Sporting Kansas City Academy and hosted the 2018 Academy Championships.

“This will be a great showcase for our city and the wonderful facilities we have built here, and we look forward to welcoming many of the top young players in the country for this event," Sporting Kansas City Manager and Sporting Director Peter Vermes said.

The Development Academy trains the nation's most elite players, vaulting several to professional and national level teams across the country.
