KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is investigating an allegation against a Riley County police officer.
The Riley County Police Department requested the bureau's help on Monday.
According to the KBI, a man flagged down an officer around 10:45 a.m. in Manhattan and reported that around 3:30 a.m. that day a patrol car was parked outside his residence.
The man said he approached the car and the officer "committed batter against him" outside and again at the entrance to his apartment. He also told the officer he was taken to the hospital for an injury.
The KBI said they executed a search warrant of the area and all other agencies have been cooperative, but they have not identified any officer who was at that location Monday morning.
Anyone with information about the investigation should call 1-800-KS-CRIME.
