KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An athletic opportunity for children with visual impairments has made its way to the Kansas City metro.

The Children’s Center for the visually impaired began its second season of beep kickball on Saturday. The ball and special bases make sounds so athletes can use their hearing to play.

Rita Garcia said the game was a brand new experience for her grandson, Kingston.

"This is a really unique experience for him because he is able to, No. 1, be with kids and No. 2, to be able to actually participate and play in a game which this is ,I think his first time to do anything like that,” Garcia said.
