KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police were involved in a standoff at a home in the 8500 block of Sni a Bar Road.

The operation began shortly after 10 p.m. Monday and continued through Tuesday morning.

Officers said they were called to the home about 10:15 p.m. after an armed robbery and believe there are people inside the house with guns, and possibly somebody else hiding in the house or being held in the house.

The caller told police that four or five people wearing masks and armed with guns were breaking into the home, and that person barricaded herself inside the home and stayed on the phone with police.

Police said the suspects opened the front door for officers but then immediately shut it once they realized it was police. That's when the standoff began.

It is unclear who in the home is involved in the robbery and those involved have been uncooperative.

Negotiators and SWAT were on scene and working to talk with the people in the home.

The standoff ended peacefully around 5:15 a.m. and several people are in custody.

There is no report of injuries.
