UPDATE, 10:30 a.m. Saturday | The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department has identified the man and woman who died Friday near the 500 block of NW Englewood Road.
Police said Saturday the two victims died of gunshot wounds.
The woman has been identified as Kiayah Rainey, 22, and the man as 23-year-old Joshua Gore, per KCPD.
Investigators are not searching for a suspect at this time.
UPDATE, 12:46 p.m. Friday | The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department says officers were called to an apartment just before 7 a.m. on a check-the-welfare call.
The individuals had not been heard from, and family was concerned for their welfare.
As officers entered an apartment, they located an adult female and adult male victim suffering from unknown trauma.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives are working to determine what led up to the incident and the relationship between the two.

Shortly before 9 a.m., officers were called to the scene in The Hills apartment complex.
