Kansas City, Kansas firefighters battled a house fire Monday morning.

Crews were at the home in the 5000 block of Walker Avenue within four minutes of reported heavy smoke and fire coming from a two story, wood-framed home, according to the Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department.

The fire began around 10 a.m. on the back deck of the house, and it was fueled by propane and ammunition that was inside the home.

Two people who lived at the home were able to make it out before firefighters arrived. One was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.

There were no smoke detectors, according to the KCK Fire Department.

The fire department estimates the total fire loss to be $185,000.
