KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City, Kansas, man was killed in a single vehicle crash at 123rd Street and Marxen Road early Sunday morning.
Just before 8:00 a.m. emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash.
Officers said preliminary investigation indicates that a pickup truck was traveling northbound on 123rd Street when it left the roadway, drove down into the ditch and came to a stop in a heavily wooded area.
The driver, who was the only occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene.
He has been identified as 45-year-old Jason Knetter of Leavenworth County, Kansas.
Police said preliminary investigation shows that speed may have been a factor in the crash.
Marxen Road north of 123rd was expected to be closed for several hours.
