KCK police: Bicyclist seriously injured in crash with vehicle

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A bicyclist was seriously injured Tuesday night in Kansas City, Kansas, after a crash involving a vehicle, according to police.

The crash occurred shortly before 8 p.m. in the 1000 block of Parallel Parkway. Police said the driver of a dark-colored vehicle was traveling westbound on Parallel Parkway when the bicyclist turned off North 10th Street and struck the side of the car.

The bicyclist was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. On Wednesday morning, police said he was “receiving care at this time.”

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene after the crash.

The incident is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Traffic Support Unit/Critical Collision Response Team.
