Man critically injured in shooting outside KCK grocery store

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — One man suffered life-threatening injuries Friday morning in a shooting at a Kansas City, Kansas, grocery store, police said.

The shooting around 9 a.m. in the 5400 block of Leavenworth Road. Police said the man was shot during a disturbance in the parking lot of Happy Foods North.

Video from SKYTRACKER showed crime scene tape around the entrance to the grocery store on the north side of Leavenworth Road.

Officers had also taped off a large portion of the parking lot.

By 11:30 a.m., Happy Foods North had reopened to the public.

Police asked anyone with information about the shooting to contact the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
