UPDATE, 5/16: Charges have been filed against a man Kansas City, Kansas, police officers shot and wounded after they say he pointed a shotgun at them.
Police were called to the 8500 block of Troup Avenue just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, officers talked to a white male who reported that his brother was breaking items inside the home.
Officers then talked to the man in his 30s inside the home and attempted to de-escalate the incident.
After officers left the house, the suspect came to the front door with a shotgun. He then went back into the house, but returned to the front door and pointed the shotgun at officers, who then fired and hit him in the leg.
The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.
No officers were injured.

Wyandotte County District Attorney Jerome Gorman filed charges against Thomas Torrence, 38.
Torrence is charged with seven counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, one count of aggravated assault and one count of criminal damage to property.
Bond is set at $50,000. No court date has been set at this time.
