KCK school resource officer arrested for child rape in Norton County, Kansas

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City, Kansas, school resource officer has been charged with child sex crimes that allegedly occurred while he lived in Norton County, Kansas.

Mark A. Scheetz, 30, of Lansing, Kansas, is being held on charges of rape, aggravated criminal sodomy, and aggravated indecent liberties with a child, according to a news release from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

Officers arrested Scheetz, who has worked for the past year as a school resource officer at F.L. Schlagle High School in the KCK school district, on Wednesday in Bonner Springs. Kansas.

The crimes allegedly occurred between 2013 and 2015 when Sheetz lived in Norton County, the KBI said.

According to the KBI release, Scheetz had sex with a minor, sent lewd photos to minors, and used electronic devices to solicit sex with minors.
