KCK officer stops robbery suspect going wrong way on I-70

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City, Kansas, police officer was involved in a crash Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 70 in KCK.

According to a spokesperson from the department, police began were called to an aggravated robbery 900 block of South 55th Street in KCK at 1:32 p.m.

The woman told police several young males approached her as she stood near her car and eventually physically assaulted her.

The suspects took her purse and drove away. Police heard a description of the vehicle over dispatch shortly before locating the vehicle.

A pursuit began and the suspect eventually got onto I-70 near I-670, driving the wrong way in the eastbound lanes.

An officer in the pursuit and heading east bound on I-70 encountered the vehicle as it was traveling the wrong way directly towards him.

The officer rammed the suspect vehicle causing it to spin out.

The driver and three passengers in the vehicle were arrested, police said.

The crash occurred around 2:45 p.m.

No one was injured in the incident.
