KCKPS adjusts school calendar due to inclement weather closures

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools announced on Monday adjustments to its school calendar to make up for “inclement weather closures.”

The district posted on its website that beginning March 23, schools will add 15 minutes to the day – eight minutes in the morning and seven at the end of the day.

Wednesday will be full be a “full day of instruction” with no early dismissal. For seniors, the last day of school will now be May 15. It previously was May 13.

The changes, according to KCKPS, will not affect bus schedules.

The last day of school will be May 21.
