KANSAS CITY, Mo. — More than 1,000 Kansas City, Missouri, residents attended a Show Me Change community event on Sunday.
Organizer DMario Gray said the family fun day at Harris Park gave children a chance to be children -- and that he hopes to counteract the violence in the community.
"In our city we got a black cloud over us and I'm tired of that man, I want change,” Gray said.
Kansas City, Missouri, recorded its 105th homicide of 2020the same day Gray’s event took place.
Free food and face painting, sports, bounce houses and guest speakers also were part of the day’s activities.
