KCMO home partially collapses as tree comes crashing down on top of it

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City, Missouri, home partially collapsed Friday after a tree came crashing down on top of it.

Just after 7 a.m., an old tree fell onto a home near 76th Terrace and Lydia.

The homeowners were drinking coffee in the kitchen before running out of the home.

There were no injuries.

The tree knocked down power lines in the backyard, shutting off power in the home. No other homes in the neighborhood were affected.

The homeowners said they will most likely remove the entire tree to prevent other parts from falling into their home or a neighbor’s in the future.
