KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, Mayor Quinton Lucas joined a neighborhood cleanup effort on Saturday.

“Over the last several months, the parks department, even as we've been dealing with COVID, budget cuts, all types of issues, has been trying to encourage more and more Kansas Citians to get out, pick up nice areas like here at Troost Lake and so many others,” Lucas said.

Residents who are part of the KCMO Parks and Recreation Parks Ambassador Program help with cleanup at all 221 city parks and the boulevard system.

“Neighbors who so often are working to keep a park clean or see concerns, really get to see that Kansas City cares about them broadly,” Lucas said.
