KCMO police investigative homicide

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police are investigating a homicide after responding Saturday to a call for a “person down on the ground.”

Around 4:30 p.m., police were called to East 38th Street and Monroe Avenue and located an unresponsive male. Officer called for EMS, which declared the male dead at the scene.

Police said that, after a preliminary investigation, the death is “suspicious in nature” and being investigated as a homicide.

KCPD identified the victim Monday as 29-year-old Terrill Hayden.

Detectives will work with crime scene investigators and medical examiners as the investigation continues.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
