KANSAS CITY, Mo. — UPDATE, 8:15 p.m. | The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department said a member of the child's family has been identified and is in touch with law enforcement.
Police said the boy is "safe and uninjured."
"The circumstances surrounding his location remain under investigation," a KCPD spokesperson said.
EARLIER REPORT | The search is on for the guardians of a five-year-old boy found Friday at an east Kansas City, Missouri, convenience store.
Will was found around 3:30 p.m. Friday at an East 23rd Street and Cleveland Avenue convenience store, according to the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department.
He is 3 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 40 pounds.
