KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, residents looking to recycle or discard bulky items are out of luck this week.
A spokesperson for the city said it is canceling recycling and bulky item pickup Tuesday through Friday.
Those drivers will be reassigned to plow snow as the city continues its fifth day of snow operations.
Trash pickup will continue as scheduled, the spokesperson said.
Under the city’s new snow operations plan, launched by new City Manager Brian Platt, drivers from waste services are moved to snow removal during inclement weather.
Employees from the public works, parks and recreation and KC Water departments are also helping with snow removal.
