Charges filed after KCPD chase, crash

A man is facing multiple charges in connection with a high-speed chase and crash on Thursday afternoon. 

Deonte Paul, 26, faces charges second degree assault charges and charges dealing with unlawful use of a weapon, resisting a lawful stop and obsession of marijuana. 

Kansas City, Missouri Police Department saw a vehicle matching the description of a car taken in a car jacking near Gregory and 71 Highway around 2 p.m.

Officers attempted to stop the car ending in a collision with another vehicle on 75th and Holmes. 

The suspect was armed and in possession of drug, according to court documents. 

Paul was injured, as well as three occupants in the other vehicle, one of them seriously injured. 

Prosecutors have requested a $250,000 bond for Paul.
