KCPD computer system down

The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department computer system is down Friday morning.

Darin Snapp, Public Information Officer with KCPD, told 41 Action News that the outage also effects phone lines, but not 911.

When 41 Action News tried to call dispatch operators around 5:15 a.m., the line continuously gave a busy tone.

As of 7:50 a.m., Snapp did not know when the system will be back up or why it was down.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
