KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A driver fleeing a hit-and-run crash ran a red light and struck a second vehicle on Thursday evening, according to Kansas City, Missouri, police.

A white Ford Fusion that had been involved in a hit-and-run crash in North Kansas City fled the scene, with the victims of the crash following him, police said in a crash report.

The driver of the Fusion drove to Broadway Boulevard and headed north. He failed to stop at a red light at 12th Street and struck a vehicle driving eastbound, police said.

The Fusion then struck a traffic pole and the south side of a parking garage at the intersection.

Police, who responded to the scene at 12th Street and Broadway Boulevard shortly before 7:30 p.m., said impairment is under investigation. The driver of the Fusion was not wearing a seat belt, and the extent of his injuries was unknown.

The driver of the Scion suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, according to police.
