KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 12-year-old boy was shot and injured while playing video games inside a home Monday night in Kansas City, Missouri, police said.
The shooting happened just before 9 p.m. near East 42nd Street and Vineyard Drive.
According to police, the boy was shot in the shoulder. He was reported to be in stable condition.
The boy's cousin said she heard a bang and thought it might have been the children playing. She saw the wound and put a towel over the area to stop the bleeding.
Police said Tuesday it appeared the shot came from inside the residence.
Officers are investigating. The shooting may have been accidental.
