KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department said a standoff at an apartment complex near 41st and Warwick has ended.
Police entered the apartment around 1:20 a.m. and found the suspect dead inside.
Police were called to the area around 7:15 p.m. Sunday after a woman had fled to a neighbor's apartment asking for help.
The woman said she had been raped and was able to provide officers with information regarding a suspect who was believed to be inside an apartment in the building.
A relative of the suspect was also inside the apartment. When officers entered the apartment, that person was unharmed inside.
The victim was transported to the hospital.
A death investigation is now underway.
