KCPD patrol division, police academy given all-clear after suspicious white powder brought inside

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City police are asking people to contact them or KCFD if they come into contact with a suspicious substance after a woman walked into the Shoal Creek Patrol Division with a cup full of white powder.

It happened at 6:47 Monday evening.

The woman said she received the suspicious white powder in the mail.

A police spokeswoman said the building was immediately closed as all necessary safety precautions were put into place.

KCFD HAZMAT and other crews arrived to investigate.

The substance was tested and determined not to be hazardous.

The Shoal Creek Patrol Division and the Regional Police Academy were closed for about 45 minutes.
