KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police are seeking information after a 19-year-old man died following a crash in late July in Kansas City.
The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. on July 23 near Mark L. McHenry Park at the intersection of Northwest Old Tiffany Springs Road and North Childress Avenue.
Police said that 19-year-old Gabriel Valdez was riding in the bed of a pickup truck and was ejected near the entrance to the park. He died later that day at an area hospital, where he was taken in a private vehicle. Police were not called to the scene of the crash.
Police said they learned of Valdez's death on Friday evening. They are asking anyone who was in the area at the time of the crash or who may have witnessed the crash to call police at 816-482-8192.
