KCPD says missing 80-year-old woman found safe

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — UPDATE, 11 a.m. Friday, April 17 | Kansas City, Missouri, police said Brenda Smith was found safe.

ORIGINAL | Family, friends and police are looking for a missing 80-year-old Kansas City, Missouri, woman.

Brenda D. Smith was last seen about noon Thursday as she left her house near East 128th and Cherry streets in south KCMO.

She drove away in a gold 1997 Lincoln Town car, according to a news release from KCPD

Smith is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. She has gray hair and hazel eyes, according to police, and was wearing blue capri pants, a gray and burgandy top and gray jacket.

The KCPD release said Smith suffers from dementia and several serious health problems.
