KANSAS CITY, Mo. — UPDATE 8/29/2017: Police say Wesley I. Mattonen has been found and is safe.

KCPD is asking for help locating a missing elderly man.
Wesley I. Mattonen was last seen in the area of 23rd and Holmes wearing a brown or beige shirt and khaki pants with black shoes and a black Air Force hat.
Mattonen, 87, is a white male weighing about 135 pounds and standing about 5 feet, 8 inches tall.
Police said Mattonen has been diagnosed with dementia.
The release said he's likely traveling on foot.
