KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Public Schools want parents' input on the future of Kansas City Schools and student success. To gain input, Superintendent Mark Bedell is hosting a series of Community Conversations throughout the district over the next two month.

KCPS said the community meetings are a way for Dr. Bedell to meet with parents to discuss the strategic plan, respond to public input and plan for long-term success.

The meetings are scheduled for each of the school district's four zones to give parents a chance to talk about specific concerns. Those meetings are as follows:

  • Central Zone, Thursday, January 25, 6:00-8:00 p.m., Linwood YMCA
  • South Zone, Tuesday, January 30, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church
  • Northeast Zone, Tuesday, February 13, Northeast Middle School
  • East Zone, Thursday, February 22, Kansas City Public Library, Northeast Branch

Childcare will be provided by the district at all events.
